If you're constantly dragging in sound effects for every new project, there's a better way. DaVinci Resolve lets you store all your sound effects in one place so you never have to leave the software again.

Save Time with DaVinci’s Built-In Sound Library

This method is perfect for editors who want to keep things clean and efficient. Here's how you can organize your sound effects once and use them forever:

Step 1: Create a Sound Effects Database Open DaVinci Resolve and set up a new database. Name it something easy like “Sound Effects.” This step builds the foundation for your audio library.
Step 2: Open Any Project You don’t need a special setup, just open any project you’re working on.
Step 3: Access the Sound Library Go to the Edit tab and click on the Sound Library panel.
Step 4: Link Your Database From the dropdown, select your newly created sound effects database.
Step 5: Add Your Folder Click the three-dot menu, choose “Add Library,” and select the folder where all your sound effects are stored.

Now everything is set.

Why This Matters
Once this is done, you can search for any sound effect by keyword and drop it directly into your timeline. No more importing files over and over.

It’s a small setup step that makes a huge difference in your editing speed.
